1.What is JEE Main?

JEE Main is a national level entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various
Engineering Colleges in India .

2. Who conducts JEE exam? Is it an online or offline exam?

The Ministry of Human Resource Development of Government of India formed NTA . NTA has been conducting JEE Main Since 2019 . Yes it is completely an Online Exam .

3. What is the examination date for JEE Main 2021?

JEE Main helds twice a year . Usually in first half of January and in first half of April . But in 2021 the exam of January has been shifted to Last week of February . Exact dates will be announced later .

4. What is the paper pattern?

There will be 75 questions in total with 25 questions in sections (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) .

Each section consists of 20 MCQs and 5 Numeric Value answer type questions .

5. How is the marking scheme?

JEE Main is an exam with total 300 marks with 100 marks form each sections .

Each Question of each sections carries 4 marks . In MCQ type questions (+4) marks for each right attempt and (-1) mark for wrong attempt .
In Numeric type questions (+4) marks for each right attempt and zero mark for wrong attempt.

No marks will be deducted or awarded for not attempting a question .

6. What is the duration of JEE Main paper?

Duration of JEE Main is 3 hours.

7. How to fill up application form of JEE Main?

To fill up the application you need to go the official website of NTA (www.nta.ac.in OR jeemain.nta.nic ) and follow the following steps :

Step-1 : Register for Online Application Formand note down system generated Application Number.The candidate should supply all the details while filling the Online Application Form and is also required to create PASSWORD and choose Security Question and enter his/her Answer. After successful submission of the personal details, Application number will be generated; it will be used to complete the remaining Steps of the Application Form and will also be required for all future correspondence. For subsequent logins, candidate will be able to login directly with the respective system generated Application Number and created Password.

Step-2:Complete the Application Form Candidate can login with the system generated Application Number and created Password for completing the Application Form.

Step-3:Upload Scanned Images of Candidate Photograph, Candidate Signature and 12thAdmit card/Mark sheet/Certificate.

1.Scanned photograph and signature should be in JPG/JPEG format.

2.Size of scanned photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb. The photograph should be coloured or black/white (but clear contrast)

3.Size of scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb.

4.Size of scanned 12thAdmit card/Marksheet/Certificate card must be between 50kb to 500kb.Note: Upload the correct Photograph and Signature as the facility for correction in images will not be given later.

Step-4: Payment of fee by Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI/PayTM: The candidate has to select Debit card/Credit card/Net banking etc.option to pay the application fee and follow the online instruction to complete the payment of fee. After successful payment, candidate will be able to print the Confirmation Page. In case the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of fee then the transaction is cancelled and amount will be refunded to the candidate’s account.

However the candidate has to make another transaction, in case the Confirmation Page is not generated.

8. What is the Eligibility criteria for students to appear for JEE Main?

Candidates who have passed their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2019 or 2020; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2021 are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2021 .

9. Is the paper bilingual?

Yes , JEE Main paper is available in both English and Hindi Language . However , candidates have to select the preferred language during the registration process.

10. How do I check my result?

To check all the updates of your application and final Results you need to login to the NTA official website (www.jeemain.nta.nic.in) using your login id and password .

JEE Advance

1. I have Class XII pass certificate and the marks statement as a separate document. Which document should I upload during the JEE (Advanced) 2017 registration?

2. Can I get question papers in English as well as in Hindi?

Candidates will get only one question paper – either English question paper or Hindi question paper but not both.

3. Will the question paper be bilingual (both in Hindi and English)?

No. You will get the question papers in only one language (English or Hindi).

4. I have appeared in Class XII examination in 2017. Will I be able to register for JEE (Advanced) 2017 without uploading Class XII certificate?

Yes. The candidates who appeared in Class XII examination in 2017 do not have to upload any document with respect to Class XII Examination.

5.Can I get the question paper in Hindi language?

Yes. JEE (Advanced) 2017 offer question papers in two languages: English and Hindi. Candidates have to choose the language option during the JEE (Advanced) 2017 registration.

6.Writing Paper-1 and Paper-2 in JEE (Advanced) 2017 compulsory ?

Yes, it is compulsory. If a candidate is absent in one of the papers, then the candidate will be considered as absent from the examination.

7.What is my login id to apply for JEE (Advanced) 2017?

Your login is your JEE (Main) roll number. The password is same as that used for JEE(MAIN).

8. Are PIO and OCI card holders eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2017?

Yes. PIO and OCI card holders are eligible. Please refer to the relevant section of Information Brochure for more information.

9.Are PIO and OCI card holders eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2017 without writing JEE (MAIN)?

No. This option is available to foreign candidates only

10. Do I need to enter my mobile number in the application form for JEE (Advanced) 2017?

Yes, you need to have at least one valid mobile number in the application form.
